We drove, We shopped, We conquered…the 127 Longest Yard Sale in the World!!!!
1192 miles and 4 days later our adventures took us from Gadsden, Alabama to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and then we were off to the Country Music capital Nashville followed up by Frankfort, Kentucky, Pioneer, Tennessee and a final stop in Jamestown, Tennessee before heading home!
lt’s all about the people, places and prizes…and we man did we experience all of the above.
Day One started out slow in Gadsden…but like the saying goes ” No Pain, No Gain”.
The slow drive up Alabama was soooooo worth it once we got to the most gorgeous Desoto State Park where we stopped and met the Double Duo/ Power Twins, Beth and Beverly. These ladies were super cool and thought that we were to quote Beverly “cuckoo” for thinking we were going to make it to Pigeon Forge that night….which we did make it!
After that chance encounter we ended the sale for the day in Mentone. Alabama. If you find yourself ever in the general area it is a quaint small hippie meets mountain town. We met another great lady Charlette…a combo platter of her mom’s name Harriet and her dad’s name Charles.
Before we hit the road for our cuckoo trip to Pigeon Forge we had dinner at the Wildflower Cafe. So at one point I thought I was in a Disney movie…the atmosphere warm, inviting and chill, the food was veggie friendly and crazy delicious and there might have been a sing a long moment between, Brenda, myself and the guitar man…think Brown Eyed Girl!
We made it to Pigeon Forge that night in time to rest for more adventures on day 2.
Images above in clockwise…Our first stop in Gadsden, Triple B’s Beth, Beverly and Brenda, Wildflower Cafe and Brenda modeling here crazy cool suede fringe vest…a $4 well spent!!!!!
A bag of brass owls was my find of the day for a whopping $8.00!!!!
Over and Out,
